Excursiones al Desierto is a local private-tour agency based in Merzouga, in the very heart of the Erg Chebbi desert. Although our roots are in the Sahara dunes, we organise tailor-made trips all over Morocco: from the bustling imperial cities (Marrakech, Fez, Rabat) to the Atlas valleys, the Todra gorges, the Atlantic coast and, of course, the endless desert landscapes.

Are the tours private or shared?
All our routes are private: you travel only with your group and your Spanish-speaking driver-guide. That way we adapt the pace, the stops and the accommodation to you.
What is the best time to go to the desert?
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the best weather. Winter is great by day but cold at night; summer is very hot, especially in Erg Chigaga.
How do I book and how do I pay?
Write to us via the form or WhatsApp with your dates and number of travellers. We send you a quote with no commitment and, to confirm, a 30% deposit is paid via PayPal; the rest is paid during the trip.
Do I need a visa to travel to Morocco?
Citizens of Spain and most Latin American countries do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days; a valid passport is enough. Check according to your nationality.
Is it safe to travel in Morocco?
Yes. Morocco is a safe and welcoming country for tourism, and you travel accompanied by our local team at all times.
Can I travel with children?
Of course. As they are private we adapt the pace; the camel ride is optional and can be replaced with a 4x4.
